METHODOLOGY
Music is a gift. However, no matter the level of talent, there is no substitute for education, dedicated practice and passion.
Having worked with children of all ages over the years, Mrs. Olga has developed her own style of musical pedagogy, one that is founded on formal music theory and music history, technique, combined with a personalized approach to ensure each student is engaged.
Students will get the opportunity to learn about key composers throughout history to contextualize the pieces and techniques they are learning, while also getting the chance to learn their favorite pop songs, or even compose their own pieces!
Homework and regular practice are essential to each student’s success. Parents are encouraged to take an active part in ensuring that their child has the necessary space, time and instrument to fulfill each week’s assignments. In exchange for this focused practice, you and your child will be delighted to see the steady progress and growing pride of being able to play new, advance pieces.
RESULTS
Focus – Your child will develop a better sense of focus, both in and out of the music studio. The focus necessary for the mind-body connection (learning music and playing it), transfers to all areas of life.
Stronger Cognition – Memory, logical reasoning and knowledge retention, improved test scores are just a few benefits of music education. It’s been shown that students who study music perform better in math, language and sciences.
Boosted Confidence – Your child’s growing musical ability will help them feel exceptional – and they are! Mastery of each new piece and musical concept will boost their self-confidence and teach them to keep going even when learning can be hard.
